CONTRIBUTORS

We accept submissions for both print and online publication. Submissions and pitches for non-fiction on any topic of interest/relevance to Newfoundland and Labrador are encouraged, along with book, music, and theatre reviews. We also publish high-quality fiction, poetry, art, photography, etc by creators with a connection to this province.

What do we publish?

We fall in love with good stories, fiction and non-fiction. We welcome the unexpected: If you can make us see familiar things in new ways, we want to read your work. We’re suckers for creativity.

Like you, we love our home and we want to stay connected. But, like you, we want to know our place in the world. Well take you along as we leave the island and the province–just so we can come back again.

Length:

Our length guidelines differ slightly for print and online.

Print:

Book reviews 750 words

Short features 500 – 1500 words

Long-form articles 1500 – 4000 words

Online:

In general we look for all pieces to be 1000 words or less.We sometimes do longer serializations, but very rarely.

We are also always looking for artwork to accompany stories and essays.
