We’d hoped to be posting today from Corner Brook, where NQ was going to be part of a couple of events on the Grenfell campus, but the PAL aircraft had other ideas. We’re hoping to reschedule – we’ll keep you updated. We will be speaking with Bernice Hillier of CBC Radio’s Morning Show on Monday at 8:15, announcing an exciting new project with the magazine, and in the meantime we’re happy to report the holiday decorations are going up at St John’s International Airport!

You can find such surprising and funny things while digging through archives. The Pilote de Terre-Neuve, published in 1869, is full of dollhouse-like illustrations of Newfoundland’s coastline, complete with tiny ships and houses. I also came across a sea captain’s letter to his daughter, in which he describes “seven little gulls recently hatched” that he is attempting to raise.
