This Might Be Satire Productions is proud to announce the premiere production of Tamasha O’ Tamasha, featuring the first-ever English translations of Gursharan Singh ‘Bhaji’, one of Punjab’s greatest playwrights and theatre-makers.

Written and directed by Azal Dosanjh, the cast includes Zachary Cross, Owen Van Houten, Lonni Patey, Yejide Emioladipupo, Spencer Bellows, Cheney Emberg, Andrew Tremblett, and Komaljeet Kaur. The show design comes to life from the talented team of Alison Helmer, Brenda Vaca, Julian Smith, Lucas Ings-Simms, and Audrey Gerow.


The performances will take place at the DF Cook Recital Hall, located in the School of Music at Memorial University, St. John’s, NL. Show dates: June 9th & June 10th, at 8:00pm; June 10th, at 2:00pm (Matinee); June 11th, at 11:30am. While I was home in Newfoundland this past summer, I was given a copy of a series of graphic novels by David Alexander Robinson dubbed Tales from Shadow River, illustrated stories about Indigenous people (Highwater Press). The Healer: Mary Webb, retells the life of my paternal great-great-grandmother, Mary Webb, a Mi’kmaq healer and midwife to 700 babies around Bay St Georges on NL’s west coast.
